Rewired (2026)

Rewired attempts to visualise the process the brain goes through during and after pregnancy. A person’s brain is primed for their new and significant role through a series of neurological changes. To me, the parent and the baby are both ‘new’. Hormones that have never existed in the body before are produced during pregnancy and other pre-existing hormones can be 200-300% higher.

The shorter wires from the salvaged stripped cables was used in this piece along with electricians’ tape.

The provision of continuous care also creates the same kind of brain changes.
